The Role...


The opportunity is for an experienced 3rd Line Support Specialist to join a growing and reputable company who operate full outsourcing and support services.
You must have a strong enterprise background with skills in SAN’s, VMWare, CISCO, Citrix and all Microsoft platforms. A working knowledge of Routers / Switches / VPN would be a definite advantage.

It is also essential to have a good understanding of the Middle Market Enterprise, and a background of working in a managed service provider would be beneficial.

It is desirable, though not essential, to have recognised certification or qualifications such as MCSE/CCNA/CCNP, and essential to have practical experience of managing business critical network environments.

The position suits a person with excellent general competencies, good telephone manner with an interest to learn.

  • Day to day management of incident volumes ranging across a broad technical spectrum.
  • Acting as the 3rd line specialist of all incidents escalated from Service Desk and 2nd line teams
  • Ability to create knowledgebase articles and monitor/update and train on these documents.
  • Support our developing requirement of larger corporate (100 servers+)
  • Create in depth Root Cause Analysis of known errors and create workarounds and suggest long term fixes.
  • Dealing with all the general day to day support.
  • Liaising with 3rd parties and other vendors to resolve network issues.

You must be...

  • Microsoft/Cisco/ VMWare related qualifications will be a distinct advantage
  • Excellent knowledge on the full range of Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Solid understanding of Active directory
  • Ability to diagnose issues and investigate solutions
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies including Citrix Xen, VMWare and Hyper V.
  • Proven track record of IT support for at least 5 years in a Service Management field.
  • Good communication skills
  • Desire to increase personal knowledge
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills along with written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and individually
